As a Data Management Technician in the Specialized Finance Team, I was in charge of analyzing the stat hire expenditure trends, the provincial aviation cost estimate tool and the current cost estimate procedures being used by the employees around the province. My promotion from a Finance and Admin Co-op meant that I would become the coordinator and administrator of provincial cost estimate for the whole program, providing crucial information o assist with forecasting and budgetting. With expertise in payroll and financial analysis, I was deployed as a financial resource to fire camps as a Finance and Admin Chief, in charge of all the contracts, time-keeping and costs of the fire.
My most rewarding responsibility in this position was acting as primary contact for the engineering of our new budgeting tool. In collaboration with Portfolio Analysts and Business Consultants, I helped identify key deliverable, processes as well as necessary functionality. |
Finance and Administration Co-op

My position as Finance and Admin Coop exposed me to a wide range of both finance and accounting concepts. I was in charge of performing analyses on the branch's equipment rates as well as yearly recoveries. As well, I began performing daily cost estimates for Headquarters which allows management to better understand our costs and more accurately forecast future expenditures. In addition, I developed a solid understanding of various accounting processes including invoicing, accounts payable, creating GL reports and analyzing debit and credit entries.
My responsibilities in this position extended to assisting the payroll section as well as managing payroll productivity functions. |
Payroll Clerk

As a Payroll clerk in an emergency services program, my team processed over 17,000 payment diaries 7 months. My responsibilities also included being the primary contact for clients in the Cariboo and Headquarters as well as the secondary contact for clients in Prince George, the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Center and Equipment Depots.
In addition, I developed a productivity tool for the team that measures workload, calculates productivity, forecasts labor requirements and produces detailed and current reports. |
